Terms & Conditions

By signing up for & attending one of our 5Rhythms classes or workshops, you accept the following terms & conditions.

Attendance at your own risk

All participants attend our 5Rhythms classes and workshops fully at their own risk. We recommend taking your own insurance to cover for possible injuries. Each person is also fully responsible for their own material belongings (clothing, glasses, etc).

5Rhythms is not therapy and does not replace therapy with a licensed therapist. Each person attending a class or workshop is expected to be able to support themselves through possible emotional processes that may arise.

By using this website you also agree to respect the copyrights of this website and all its content.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE WEB SHOP / ONLINE COURSE REGISTRATION:

Karoliina Valontaival (VAT number FI27978535), later “webshop”, sells tickets to 5Rhythms dance classes and workshops as well as gift cards through the webshop. Tickets are available for purchase for both individuals and companies from all countries. All prices are stated inclusive of VAT. We reserve the right to make changes to these terms and conditions, prices as well as the courses we offer (timetables, venue, and teacher).

1. MAKING YOUR PURCHASE

You can register and pay for a course either via the shop page or through the events calendar and event page of the course you wish to attend. Choose the ticket type you prefer and add it to your shopping cart. You may register for several different events at once, or buy several tickets for the same event; however if registering attendees other than yourself, give their names and email addresses in the “additional info” field during checkout. You confirm your place in the course by completing your purchase through the checkout page. All registrations are binding. By registering for the course you accept the terms & conditions, prices and terms of cancellation. You will receive an order confirmation by email. Please check your spam box and any email filters if you do not receive your confirmation. If you signed up for a workshop, you will receive a welcome letter about one week before the start of the workshop.

2. PAYMENT

Bambora PayForm

Bambora PayForm (Paybyway Oy, business-id FI24865594) is the payment facilitator of the online shop. The Paybyway Oy is a payment facilitator authorized by the Financial Supervisory Authority of Finland. The payment process is conducted in the online service of the Bambora. Bambora or Paybyway Oy is shown as the payment received in the bank account listing and in the invoice. Paying with Bambora is safe. All information is exchanged through secured connections.

The trade happens between the online customer and the online shop. The online shop is responsible for all obligations related to the trade.

3. PAYMENT METHODS

With Bambora PayForm you can pay your order by an internet banking account, a wallet, a payment card (credit/debit), an invoice or a partial payment. The following methods of payment are supported: Osuuspankki, Nordea, Danske Bank, Oma Säästöpankki, Säästöpankki, Aktia, Paikallisosuuspankit, S-Pankki, Handelsbanken, Ålandsbanken, MobilePay, Visa-, Visa Debit-, Visa Electron- and MasterCard- and Debit MasterCard payment cards.

MobilePay: You can pay with your MobilePay wallet if you have allowed online payments in the settings of the MobilePay application. Payment via MobilePay takes place directly from the payment card linked to MobilePay. If charging the payment from the linked card fails, MobilePay can not be used in the online shop.

4. ATTENDING THE COURSE YOU HAVE REGISTERED FOR

When you have registered and paid for your course, your place has been confirmed. A warm welcome to join us in the dance!

The venue and timetables of each course is outlined in the event page. We will do our utmost to stick to them, but unfortunately sometimes (rarely) it happens that we must make changes. We reserve the right to make amendments to the course venue, timetables, and teacher if it is absolutely necessary, and we will inform all participants as soon as we can.

If you are a student or you are unemployed and you bought a discounted ticket for a weekly class, please show your student / unemployed ID at the door upon arrival.

If you made your order less than 12 h before the start of the course, please show your payment receipt at the door.

Class cards for weekly classes: you will receive your class card at the door when you arrive for your first class. Keep your card safe – we will not replace or refund lost cards.

 

5. CANCELLATIONS

See below for terms of cancellation.

Terms of cancellation

Weekly classes

Single class payments: A single class ticket is valid for 1 month from the purchase date. No refunds, transfers, or exchanges are possible. Please show your receipt of payment at the door, as well as your student ID or unemployment certificate if you are eligible for the discounted price.

Class cards: You will receive your class card at the door by showing your payment receipt. Class cards may be used for classes on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each class card is for personal use only. The class card is non-refundable, non-transferable and non-exchangeable. It is valid for one term (spring term until the end of june and autumn term until the end of december). In force majeure cases like injury or illness, we may upon agreement extend the duration of the class card (but this must be discussed before the expiry date of the card and you must also show a doctor’s certificate/note). Keep your card safe – we will not replace or refund lost cards.

Weekend workshops

Registrations are binding. We charge a cancellation fee and the amount depends on how long before the workshop you cancel your place. 

  • Please make your cancellation in writing by emailing Karoliina: karoliina (at) valontaival (dot) com. In the subject of your email, please mention the name of the workshop as well as “cancellation” to make it easier for Karoliina to find your email.
  • Please give us all the necessary bank account details for the refund (IBAN & BIC for EU residents)

If you cancel your place:

  • OPTION 1: get a partial refund (see below)
  • OPTION 2: have someone fill in for you

OPTION 1: Cancelling and getting a refund

  • At the latest by 3 weeks before the workshop: we charge a 50€ cancellation fee and the rest of the payment will be refunded into the account you specify
  • At the latest by 2 weeks before the workshop: we will charge 50% of the workshop price and refund the rest into your account
  • Less than 2 weeks before the workshop: no refunds given. Exception: in the force majeure cases of injury or illness (whereby we will charge a 50€ cancellation fee and refund the rest of the course price if you cancel at the latest 24 h before the workshop starts. We will need a doctor’s note)

OPTION 2: Naming a replacement

  • YES it is possible to have someone fill in for you. Please tell us their name (by 1 day before the workshop begins) and you can sort out the payment for the workshop between the two of you. We will not charge a fee for this, nor will we refund money.

 

NOTE! If changes are made to the course (venue, timetables, teacher), we will endeavour to notify participants via email as soon as possible. If the course has to be cancelled by either the teacher or the producer, participants will receive a full refund (except for any additional payment type fees incurred at checkout).

Who is collecting my information?

The website also uses third-party applications (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google, Paypal) for sharing content on social media as well as for logging in (to avoid having to have a new set of login information, i.e. password and username, users may opt to login via a selected social media network). We have two email lists (and both are available in both Finnish and English):

  • monthly newsletter (1 email per month)
  • offers, discounts, announcements (0-2 emails per month)

You may change your subscription options or unsubscribe at any time.

The monthly newsletter includes upcoming events (and how to sign up) and inspiring content to juice up your dance and life.

The announcements email list is for special offers, discounts, to remind you of an early bird deadline or promote events. We will not spam you and we will keep email communications to a minimum.

You may register for the email list:

  • separately through an opt-in form
  • in our online shop: when registering for a class or workshop online
  • in class: you may give your email address to us at the door to be added to our email list

You may unsubscribe from the list at any time using the unsubscribe links provided.

Our newsletter service is provided by MailChimp, a third party service. Your details will not be given to or used by MailChimp or anyone else, or for anything else than what you signed up for.

Security

We will not give, rent, or sell your personal details to anyone else. Ever.

We have a SSL-certificate and other security measures in place to ensure a high degree of security and privacy, both for your personal information and for the website in general. We do everything we can to also protect any personal information that may be stored offline. However nothing on the internet is 100% secure, and while we do our best to avoid security breaches, we do not take responsibility for hacks and other security issues or attacks.

Responsibility of the user in upholding the security of the website and their personal information:
  • we require strong passwords
  • don’t give your login information to anyone else
  • change your password from time to time. Keep it secret. Keep it safe.

Karoliina Valontaival has a license to use the 5Rhythms® logos and trademarks. She has been trained as a 5Rhythms® Spaceholder and is now in the teacher training.
